At Pawsome Behaviour solutions I do not call myself a trainer. I educate owners on how to manage a pets emotions, where unwanted behaviour is the result of an emotional response.

When a dog barks, for instance, the owner just wants to stop the barking; however I work out why a dog is barking. I WORK ON THE WHY, not the outcome which is the bark.
Similar to cats that are not using their litter tray. The cat is not using the litter tray because they have an emotion, causing them not to use it. I work on the emotion as to why they are not using it. I then show the owners how to modify the behaviour in a way that a pet will respond happily, and not forcing them to behave like many trainers do.

Most trainers will work on the behaviour, hence why trainers do not work for some pets and the issues are on going, or the trainer resorts to punishment based techniques. Which has been scientifically proved to make a behaviour worse.

If you only work on one behaviour, but they have others that are not being looked at, then that one behaviour you thought you needed help with will get worse, not better, and the others that were mild will become more severe.
UNDERSTAND THE BRAIN, AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THE BEHAVIOUR AND HOW TO MODIFY IT.

Dee is also a member of the PPGA, which is an international known membership of positive reinforcement trainers. If Dee feels she has thrown all her experience and education at a case, and we are not getting results, then she uses PPGA to contact other trainers and members to discuss cases and outcomes. So you do not only get Dee you get the knowledge of many other trainers as well.
